Sunwhite® Calrose Rice is an oval medium-grain white rice known for its quality and taste. When cooked, Calrose rice becomes soft and tender with a tendency to stick together due to its succulent grains, allowing it to retain its moisture. Sunwhite® Calrose Rice is used in dishes that require a bit more creaminess as well as a side dish to compliment almost every meal. Its versatility means that it can be used in everything from starters and soups to desserts. For best results, rinse this rice with cold water. Drain well before cooking. All rice is naturally gluten-free. 4kg and 9kg packages are available in Jordan only.

Ingredients to serve:

  • 2 cup Sunwhite Medium Grain Rice

  • 2 Bay Leaves

  • 4 Cardamom Pods

  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil

  • 11 piece Chicken Leg - Thighs And Drumsticks

  • ½ tbsp Salt

  • 1 pinch Black Pepper (ground)

  • ¼ tbsp Mixed Spices

  • ¼ tbsp Cardamom (ground)

  • ¼ tbsp Cumin

  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil

  • 2 Onions (finely sliced)

  • 4 clove Garlic Cloves (crushed)

  • 2 Tomatoes (cut into small cubes)

  • 1 piece Hot Green Pepper (large size / cut into cubes)

  • 2 cup Water

Medium Grain

White medium grain rice is a round, tender and succulent grain, allowing it to lock in moisture when it is cooked. This rice is often used in dishes that require a bit more creaminess, like paella or risotto. It is also ideal in your favourite Middle Eastern, Korean and Spanish dishes.

  • Wash the rice several times and let it soak in water for at least 30 minutes.

  • Pour a large amount of water into a deep saucepan and add to it: bay leaf, cardamom, salt and oil.

  • Put the pot on a medium heat and leave the ingredients until they boil well.

  • Add the soaked rice and cook for about 10 minutes, then drain.

  • Mix together the salt, black pepper, ground cardamom and cumin until all are mixed

  • Put the chicken pieces in a bowl and season with half of the resulting mixture of spices.

  • In a deep pan, heat the oil over a medium heat.

  • Add the seasoned chicken pieces.

  • Cook the chicken, for 10-12 minutes a side, until the outside is golden brown, then set aside.

  • Put the onion wings in the same pan and stir until they wilt, then add the garlic, black pepper and tomatoes

  • Mix the previous ingredients with the remaining amount of the spice mixture and stir until the flavors are well distributed.

  • Pour the water into a pot, bring to a boil and let the vegetables cook for at least 5 minutes.

  • Add the cooked Sunwhite rice to boil with the vegetables for a few minutes, stir well

  • On a plate, place the seasoned rice and fried chicken on top.

  • Add the parsley for decoration.
